Naturally Nordic
Tauranga | $25K – $30K | Scandinavian Style
This stunning Scandinavian-style design combines timeless white with natural wood features to create a modern, minimalist kitchen on a budget.
This Modern Kitchens Facelift had a dramatic effect on the look and feel of this open-plan living space.
While the old kitchen’s foundations were functional, the colour scheme and design were crying out to be brought into the 21st century. The new design is a great example of what a simple kitchen Facelift can achieve.
Prime Stone’s luxurious Finelli engineered stone created a hygienic space to prepare and serve food. The benchtop was chosen for its strength and durability, and to add visual interest that ties in to the bright white room. A Mercer Everglade sink fits seamlessly into the benchtop, and a L-shaped pull-out mixer makes washing-up a breeze.
Prime French Oak panels were made to perfectly fit the original cabinets. To break up the visual mass of the cabinetry, Melteca Snowdrift, a cool white, was chosen for the taller cupboards. This has a zoning effect and allows the natural French Oak timber elements to retain the focus. The vertical panels also add a sense of height to the design, stretching towards the high ceiling.
One of the standout features of this kitchen makeover is the gloss black splashback. Made up of York Cube tiles that create a stunning cube design, it complements the clean lines throughout the rest of the kitchen design. The black Edge Straight drawer handles by Archant and the Anzio pantry door handles add a hint of black throughout the design to link in with the splashback.
Finally, the kitchen was subtly extended to add a pantry and wine cooler, giving the family more practical storage and the prefect space for entertaining guests.
In this case, it’s what’s on the outside that counts. A facelift took this kitchen from the 90s to today with sophisticated, minimalistic design improvements that will stand the test of time.
